A beautiful vampire queen is staked in her coffin by one of Santo's ancestors in the mid-1800's, only to be exhumed and revived to life 100 years later by a mad scientist and his henchmen; the sexy vampire seeks vengeance on the modern-day descendant of the man who killed her. This film's plot resembles somewhat the British Hammer film "DRACULA AD 1972" (made a year later), although it must have been sheer coincidence; this is a very scarce Mexi-horror film, perhaps one of the hardest-to-find titles in the entire SANTO film series.(ENGLISH SUBTITLES)

SANTO VS. EL REY DEL CRIMEN

SANTO VS. THE KING OF CRIME Starring: SANTO, FERNANDO CASANOVA, ANA BERTHA LEPE, AUGUSTO BENEDICO, YOLANDA CIANI, FERNANDO OSES, RENE CARDONA SR. This was the only SANTO film ever to reveal his "secret origin", although many later films in the series did not seem to allude to it. A wealthy old man approaching death reveals to his son that he once was the masked superhero named El Santo, and passes his trademark silver mask and secret crime-fighting laboratory down to the boy upon his death. This film also introduced a faithful butler who aids Santo in his war against crime, very similar to the character of Alfred in the 1960s "BATMAN" TV series. THE TERRIBLE SNOW GIANT Release Date: 1962 Starring: Joaquin Cordero, Ana Bertha Lepe, Jose Chavez, Elizabeth Dupeyron, David Hayat, Jose Eduardo Perez, Antonio Raxel, Andres Soler In 1962, Rafael Grovas produced a Sci-Fi film called "THE VOLCANO MONSTER", which was about an Abominable Snowman that terrorizes the mountainous areas above a small Mexican village; at the end of the film, the beast plunged to his death from a cliff and the villagers thought that was the end of it; now in this 1962 sequel ("THE TERRIBLE SNOW GIANT"), the Snow-Creature has apparently returned from the dead to once more haunt the Mexican hill country and the frightened villagers must come up with a permanent way to defeat the beast. GIGANTES PLANETARIOS

PLANETARY GIANTS Release Date: 1965 Starring: Guillermo Murray, Adriana Roel, Rogelio Guerra, Jose Angel Espinosa (aka "Ferrusquilla"), Carlos Nieto, Jose Galvez, Nathanael Leon, Daniel Villaran, Evita Munoz (aka "Chachita"), Irma Lozano, Mario Orea. A group of astronauts (led by Guillermo Murray) travel to another planet to save the Earth from being blown up; this is one of the only Sci-Fi space films ever made in Mexico, since this particular genre relied more on lavish budgets than any other; some fans regard the film as a "poor man's Star Trek"; while the sets were still standing, director Crevenna rushed out a sequel the same year, entitled "PLANET OF THE WOMEN INVADERS" , which also starred Guillermo Murray as the leader of the astronaut squadron.
