Daisy or the Girl at a Masquerade
For most people, she is just a girl standing alone in the midst of a masque ball. For the lovers of Russian romantic literature she is Daisy - one of the most endearing female characters from Alexander Grin's novel The Waverunner.
This piece of pyrography on birch veneer is an original signed and dated illustration to The Waverunner by Maria K. created in preparation for publishing the English language translation of the novel in 2009 (along with other original illustrations). The piece is 8" x 10" and comes in a beautiful standalone metal frame.
